Dear Members

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact counties across the Republic of Ireland, Roscommon Credit Union, would like to reassure our members, we are still open should you need to use our services. We advise those who can, to use our online or phone services wherever possible.



As of today, April 3rd we have implemented new measures to continue to best assist and protect all our members, staff and the communities we serve. These measures include:

  1. Amended Opening Hours – Roscommon Office
  2. Special Attention to our Cocooning Members
  3. Introduction of a NEW COVID-19 Loan – HERE2HELP Loan


Amended OPENING HOURS – Roscommon Office

In light of the evolving situation and in the interests of public safety, we have taken a decision to temporarily amend our Roscommon office opening hours. Effective Monday, April 6th our Roscommon office will now be closed on Mondays, until further notice. Our office will open Tuesday – Friday, 10 am to 3 pm and closed for lunch daily from 12 – 12.30 pm.

Our Elphin and Strokestown offices remain temporarily closed. Members who transact in these branches can avail of services in our Roscommon office and where possible transact via phone, email and online. 

We understand that this will inconvenience many of our members but we believe it is in the best interest of all our members, staff and the communities which we serve.

Roscommon Office Opening Hours

Closed: Mondays (effective Monday 6th April 2020)

Open: Tuesday – Friday 10 am – 3 pm (Closed for Lunch 12 – 12.30 pm)

Special Attention to our Cocooning Members

We wish to reassure our cocooning members, we are here to help in whatever way we can. Cocooning members will not be left without, if you need to access your account while cocooning at home, we have introduced a new member authorisation facility. This facility enables our cocooning member’s to grant authorisation to a person of their choosing to withdraw funds from their account up to the value of €300.

Simply download our Member Authorisation Form, once complete, the form can be submitted to our Roscommon office where funds from the members account will be given to the authorised person. The maximum withdrawal is €300.

Express Lodgement Facility 

We also offer an Express Lodgement facility, if members wish to lodge funds to their share account(s) and/or loan account(s) you can continue to do so. Simply place your monies/cheque in an envelope, clearly marked with your name, account number, address, date, telephone number and instructions as to where you wish the funds to be allocated. Envelopes can be dropped into our Express Lodgement secure post box located on the exterior of our Roscommon office (to the left of the main door).

At Roscommon Credit Union we understand that many of their members will face unexpected hardship through unemployment and other events associated with COVID-19. We are known for always putting the interests of its members first and with that we have launched our “Here2Help” loan. 

Our Here2Help loan offers members in receipt of a COVID-19 payment a low rate of 7.75% (Apr 8.07%). The maximum value of the loan is €1,500, with a maximum repayment term of 12 months. Members who currently have no other loan with Roscommon Credit Union and are not currently availing of a paybreak from another financial institute can apply. Loans are subject to approval. Terms and Conditions apply. Roscommon Credit Union is regulated by The Central Bank of Ireland. 

Representative Example: Borrow €1,500 over 12 months at a variable interest rate of 7.75% (APR 8.07) with 48 fortnightly repayments of €60.04, Total Repayable Amount of €1,560.90, Total Cost of Credit of €60.90.

In Financial Difficulty?

We are urging members experiencing financial difficulty at this unpreceded time to contact us either by phone, email or online, to discuss possible flexible arrangements regarding their loans over the coming months. We can assure members they will be treated fairly and with empathy.

We are also aware of moneylenders continuing to target people in our local community in recent times. If our members find themselves in financial difficulty, we would ask that they speak with us first.

Online and Mobile Banking Service – CU 24/7

  • Transfer funds from your credit union account to an external bank account
  • Transfer funds internally from your credit union share a/c to your loan account
  • Pay Bills
  • View transactions and request account statements
  • Get a quick quote for a loan and submit an online loan enquiry
