Applying for a Credit Union Loan is simple and easy! 

 Loan applications can be taken over the phone or in person in any of our 3 branch offices. No appointment is needed and applications can be made in a matter of minutes! Simply call 090 6626657 or request a call back via our loan enquiry form!

To support your loan application you will need to provide the following;


Proof of Income

Payslips (2 most recent payslips or social welfare payments)

Bank Statements may be required (dated within the last 3 months from the date of the loan application)


For Self Employed Members

The latest year of certified accounts or copy of your Revenue Commissioner’s Assessment (Form 11)

We advise members to provide their supporting documentation at the time of completing the loan application form, as this greatly reduces loan processing time.


Member Record Update – Important Notice

Member records (member I.D. and Address) must be up-to-date before a loan application can be processed, this is a requirement by law, under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing) Act, 2010 & 2013, amended 2018.

To update your records you need to provide one document as proof of identity and one document as proof of address, the following list offers examples of acceptable documentation;


Proof of Identity

  • Current valid Passport
  • Current Valid Driving License
  • Current EU National Identity Card


Proof of Address

  • Utility Bill (stating your full name & address)
  • Mobile Phone Bill
  • Bank / Credit Card Account Statement
  • Revenue Correspondence
  • Social Protection Correspondence

We have now made it easier for our members to submit their documentation, with our online upload facility, simply upload your documents in the required format (PDF, DOC DOCX, PNG and JPEG files are permitted. Max file site upload is 3 Mb) 

Please note documents must be clearly legible, where documents are deemed unclear we reserve the right to request the re-submission of documents either in person to our branch offices or via email.

Who can borrow from Roscommon Credit Union?

Only members are eligible to receive loans from Roscommon Credit Union Ltd. If you would like to become a member, visit our Become a Member page.


How long do I have to be a member before I can borrow?

Once you become a member you are eligible to apply for a loan. There is no waiting period or saving requirement needed before you can apply for a loan with Roscommon Credit Union Ltd. New members can join and apply for a loan on the same day!


How much can I borrow?

Members of Roscommon Credit Union Ltd. can borrow up to €100,000, with no minimum borrower amount* No matter what your personal loan needs we have a great value loan to suit you!


*Roscommon Credit Union Reunion Loan, has a minimum borrower amount of €3,000. All other loans have no minimum borrower amount.


How are loan Applications Assessed

Each application is treated in the utmost confidence and will be considered on its own merits. Loan approval is based on ability to repay and not how much you have in your savings account.


How long does it take to get loan approval?

Once your loan application and supporting documents are submitted and credit check complete and where required a guarantor is in place, you can expect to hear back from our loans team within 24 – 48 hours!


Can I apply for a further loan before I repay my current loan?

Yes, you can apply for a top up loan at any time; you don’t have to repay one loan before applying for another.


How do I repay a loan?

Once you decide the schedule of your repayments, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. You can opt to repay your loan by standing order, wage deduction, electronic funds transfer or by calling into any of our offices.


Can I assess my credit union account online?

Yes, you can access your account(s) by logging in to our online banking. You can request a pin at any time. With your PIN you can check current balances, next payment date or loan amounts. You can also request a statement of your account at any time. Simply enter the dates you require and we will post your statement to you.
